Egyptian lawsuit demands new and genuine women’s council
The Egyptian National Council for Women used to be headed by the Suzanne Mubarak, wife of the former despot and president, Hosni Mubarak. The council was formed and run by members of the dispersed National Democratic Party of Mubarak, thus a demand has been filed that the council be dissolved and a new one established. The complainers want a new body that ‘truly represents Egyptian women and seeks to empower them.’
